BLOG PART 3
DAY 3: Fogal: So as I write this we are on Day three. Just had breakfast and all showered. Last night we watched Rambo: First Blood, so feel that today after watching that it might just bring out an angrier edge even though we are recording Divorce Before Marriage. We are setting up the Bass through the Selmer amp and talking of maracas and tambourine on Deep and chilli later. We are definitely on track. A song a day. The ILT sitcom continues.

Breakfast
Martin: Day 2 was productive. We Saw the Deep sent us all into hypnotic trances (in a good way) with its evolving guitar arpeggios. Its probably my favourite of the new songs but its pretty draining to record. It takes a load of concentration to get right. Thankfully we get it done in about 6 takes. My arm hurts. Manage to avoid having the arpeggios playing in my head all night with a bit of mindless violence on the TV box. I go outside for the first time since we arrived. It was sunny.
DAY 4: Fogal: So Day four, sees another early start. We woke Dave up by going through the songs already recorded, after leaving the headphones on upstairs. Sorry Dave. Last night we finished Divorce and then started working on Lions. A song that has been through many versions. We tried jamming through and working out the recorded version. Alistair and Dave play silly buggers. Get caught by the postman with their belts off and running outside.

Drum Tuning
Bowis: It’s not as dodgy as it sounds. We were discussing the various merits of different types of belt, and a low flying military type aircraft flew over the house, so we were merely trying to catch a glimpse of it, and maybe whip it a little. And the postman chooses that moment to come round the corner. The postman never comes up there! What are the chances!? Anyway, it’s not like we had our trousers off or anything…
Fogal: KRAUTROCK. So Guy writes a Top Gear style guitar part. Anthemic! We just had curry and are about to start Sirens. Powering through the album at the moment. I hope this is a good thing.
Bowis: Looking forward to a weekend off now . The isolation does strange things to you.
Fogal: Tomorrow sees the end of the first week. We take a long deserved weekend break away from the studio. I’m sure I will get up to mischief.

Festive Drums
DAY 5: Fogal: Well I’ve finished my bits for the first week and we’ve just dropped Alistair at the train station. He’s gone away for the weekend. Been working on Sirens all day so far and its sounded BIG. Some really cool Guitar bits. Really pleased with how this week has gone. Back in a couple of days!
