Elegies DVD

Postby Kevo on Sun May 30, 2010 2:20 pm

Got home late last night and watched this from start to finish. It is truly superb. Have iLT ever performed the entire album with the animation as backing visuals? If not, why not?! Maybe it is too late now a few years down the line, but I think it would work really well especially if it was on a big cinema-style screen (recently saw British Sea Power do their Man of Aran soundtrack at the Union Chapel, and can see iLT doing something similar with this). Did Ashley do the whole thing? It is great art, and needs to be out there!

A very belated reply to Kevo. I know the moment may have passed for the band, but I think its a fantastic idea nevertheless. The DVD is wonderful, and all that work deserves a wider audience. As Kev said, BSP did the whole Man of Aran thing, which was brilliant, and I recently had the pleasure of seeing french mentalists Zombie Zombie performing their own live soundtrack to Battleship Potemkin. I'd certainly go out of my way to see iLT performing Elegies in this way.
