And I put a piece up on our website about it:

Then I got my car insurance quote. Put it this way, I will not be withdrawing my pledge to buy the album but it could be the last album I buy in a long time, and I can forget about the box set. Or indeed having any sort of life for the foreseeable future...

And now I have a better car insurance quote. It's still absolutely ridiculous, but it's more than £100 less than the previous one - can you see how my mind's working?

How good is Alistair at scrabble?

I think this is the ultimate sign of your progression not just as a band but as people, surely it should be a game of chess?

And £100 for AAA to hang out backstage really depends on the venue, if it's the faversham that's just a dark room

A very noble cause, and not a rattling tin or band member sitting in a bath of beans in sight. I had to stick to the normal Pledge and a signed CD because I'm a bit broke at the moment, although I was tempted to go with the guitar lesson so maybe I can learn the one chord I can't figure out in BTCC 2...

All the best chaps, looks like you're well on your way!

Edit - Is whoever bought the bow obsessed with Sigur Ros or just an iLT anorak? I was there when a piece of bow history was made - Guy throwing it up into the air during a gig in Birmingham and it landing on one of Simon's cymbals at a moment that actually fit in with the music...

I pledged a game of scrabble. I'd probably get hammered but it's the quirkiest pledge out of the list.

did you give in to temptation.. someone appears to have pledged to have a lesson?

I think the band have missed a trick though.. surely they should have put up the signed plaster cast from Simon's leg..it would make a great umbrella stand.

We sorted out the pledges before I broke my leg though. We still might put this up. :-)

This response is immense! So cool.

So...the violin bow is available again, or did a second one mysteriously appear?

Yeah...it's not too unreasonable, just a bit of a shocker. I would have gladly paid $20 for each of them, be seeing the $100 tag on all of them combined is hard to stomach. I definitely will find a way to make this happen though!

I actually had the idea once of setting up some sort of auction site or organization of sorts where I'd sell rare goods from a band, take a cut for operating costs, but then send the extra money back to the band. It's great that a band's rare stuff attracts so much money, but it'd be better if that extra money went to the band. I definitely paid a pretty penny for the early iLT 7" records because I wanted them, but it would have been so great to see iLT financially profit from that.

92% but only 285 pledges. Maths suggests that another 24 pledges should do it.

Hi Zack,

Short runs on vinyls are pretty pricy unfortunately. Most companies don't want to even quote for less than 1000 units. I hope that we can get the hundred Pledges that we need for this one. It took some time to clear the rights for the old stuff and then get some competitive quotes for manufacture. This was one of the things holding us back from launching our Pledge earlier.

Thanks everyone for Pledging. We're nearly at our target which is amazing in a little over 24 hours. Keep spreading the word. If the boxsets don't reach 100 we will have to withdraw them, knocking us back on our total so all Pledges are still important for us!

Cheers x

Yes, I believe they're covering it for the secret track on the new album.

Gone for the lyrics book and the CD...box set does look enticing, but Mr Sensible is winning the argument at the mo' ('but you have all the songs anyway! Spend the money on their next tour!'...as you can see, Mr Sensible isn't that sensible really.)

I assumed as much. It's definitely worth it as I just want PR in vinyl. I wasn't clear before. Seeing the $100 price tag came as a shock, but buying 5 albums at $20 wouldn't phase me. It's one of those psychological problem framing theories that I should probably know more about. I'll convince myself to eventually purchase it.

Congrats on the 100%! Off to 200% now.

great to see that you have met your initial target :P

on the boxed set, would it be possible to do as someone suggested earlier and just do the new album and a rarities vinyl double set instead if the 100 target not met? or else do pledges for requests at the gigs to help fund it..I suspect you'd need to retract the bow though then.

great idea deb .... a pledge gig (in leeds) whereby there are songs up for pledge ... stainless steel would be worth a fortune , with the bow being retired like a pele shirt and pledged at the same time.

hey , but so would btcc , and deception and .... oh , the list goes on.

you could even slice up the pledges for each song ... like you have to have 10 pledges at £x each to play the song ...

but , if you were to do this , you have to do it when i'm not on holiday ... lol ;-)

or maybe , thats all just a naff idea ... anyway ... massive congrats on the first hurdle . fingers crossed on the special sets reaching a 100.

very much looking forward to some gigs later in the year.
